This access is the shortest entry to both singletrack and the main park access roads. Yes, you can certainly stay on Washington Street, passing Hoover and then a left on Lounsbury Lane and enter the park. However, shorter is better.
You enter on singletrack. If you take its first left you will turn onto On Your Back. If you continue straight, you will come out on the park's roadway between the 2 parking lots. To the right is the toll house and access to the lower parking lot, to the left is the upper parking lot. If you take the faint trail to the right just before hitting that road you will be on the singletrack loop that is also accessed by the field across from the toll house [if you follow this trail around and you will come out on the access trail opposite the first left onto On Your Back. ]
There is a restroom in the town park to the north of the road that crosses the railroad tracks affording Metro North access, on the Hudson side of the tracks. It is only open is season. Another restroom is in Blue Mtn park above the lower parking lot. A portable toilet can also be found in the upper parking lot of the park.
