On this ride we ride through many Queens and Brooklyn neighborhoods to explore the nether reaches of Queens to Laurelton which borders Nassau County.

For those who are interested, the paper cue sheet lists all the different neighborhoods we ride through.  And for those who use turn by turn audio directions on your iphone, the audio will recite the neighborhood in addition to the turn instructions.

Interesting people who came from Laurelton include Bernie and Ruth Madoff, and we will ride by their childhood homes on our route.

You will see scenic areas of Queens and Brooklyn on this ride, and a lot of quiet residential streets and parks.  We pass through Cambria Heights, a Queens neighborhood which is mostly African American but is also the home of Ohel Chabad Lubavitch, the resting place of Menachem Schneerson, a grand rebbi believed by Jews from the Lubavitch sect to be the Messiah.  Tens of thousands of people from all over the world visit his gravesite every year.

Lunch options are weather dependent.  We can pick up lunch at Ali’s Roti and have a very quick picnic in Brookville park.  Link to Ali’s Roti menu is here  Ali’s Menu:  Ali's Roti Shop - Rosedale, NY Restaurant | Menu + Delivery | Seamless.

On the return we ride through many historic NYC neighborhoods including Brownsville, then Crown Heights and look at mansions and brownstones along President Street before returning to the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge.   Read about the many historic mansions along President Street here:  The Beautiful Mansions of President Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn - Untapped New York
